Project Brief
Visual Bite
For this project, each student was tasked with choosing their preferred sauce from a list and create a brand identity along with three differing labels. Not only do these labels help differentiate the flavors and heat intensities from one another, but they also help them stand out on a shelf. With this in mind, the main learning objectives was the use of acuity perspective and 0-5-10 color splits to ensure that your sauce was guarantee to come home with the customer.
Process
A Long, Uphill Battle
Starting this project, I already had the mascot in mind which caused some issues as I became stuck to an idea and reverse engineer from there. I created ten or more color rough drafts, and the one that worked the best is what you see here. However, the digitization process was the hardest part of this project as the details became much finer and harder to discern what worked and what didn’t. When semi-comps came around, I was told that I was stuck to a design and that I was failing this design. Despite that, I pushed through and made the labels seen below.
